    TIMEVALUE

    Returns the fraction of a 24-hour day the time represents.

    Syntax

    =TIMEVALUE(time_string, [format_string])

    Parameters

    1. time_string
      • Type: String
      • Description: The string that holds the time representation.
    2. format_string [optional]
      • Type: String
      • Description: The string representing format of the date.

    Returns

    • Type: Number
    • Description: Returns the fraction of a 24-hour day the time represents.

    Notes

    The string of text used it a time_string should be within quotations and represent time using 12-hour time format, for example “3:45 pm”.
    There is a need to switch the format to TIME in the “Automatic” menu.
    Days of the week are ignored in the time_string.
